About me

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.

The story of

Autumn McMinimy

Although I enjoyed dabbling in writing, even briefly changing my major in college to “Journalism,” I soon poured myself into my other talent: singing. I began my vocal journey in various choirs and groups, where I honed my skills and gradually built the confidence to step into the spotlight as a soloist.

Before long, I turned professional, using my vocal skills for a variety of ceremonies and celebrations. I also formed a vocal group, and we toured California, performing at our own concerts as well as in collaborative events. It wasn’t until I returned to college and my singing career slowed down that I decided to turn my attention back to writing.

Daughter of Promise began as an allegory reflecting significant periods of my life, marked by extreme religious beliefs, tumultuous ordeals, and incredible triumphs. As the story evolved, I embraced the freedom of writing pure fiction, which is why I describe it as a semi-allegory. The first draft was written many years ago, and the journey to this point has been filled with both challenges and triumphs that have shaped me as a writer.

A few interesting details about my life: I lived in Japan, where I taught ESL courses, enjoyed tempura, and even wore a glamorous traditional kimono.

My professional experiences have included rubbing people the right way as a massage therapist, picking their brains as a group counselor, and finally, caring for my beloved mother, who passed away in 2021.
